So, you have the latest I-Phone and you just so happen to snap a few pictures of you and your new fiancé that come out nice! Why not save a little time and money, opt out of an engagement session, take one of those pictures, add it to an announcement template and ship them off to your friends and family! Right? Wrong! An engagement session has many valuable aspects, the main value being the rapport that you build with your photographer during the session.
An engagement session:
Allows your photographer to learn your comfort zones.
Isn’t nearly as time-restricted as your wedding day will be. This more
laid back shoot allows you to be as playful and as experimental as you
want to be
Gives you more of an idea as to how your photographer works. What languages your photographer speaks. What does he mean when he says, “Stand back to chest.”
Allows you to include items that are uniquely you (pets, sports memorabilia, etc.).
Takes away the “will my photographer understand my likes and dislikes” jitters on your wedding day
Allows your photographer to get to know you on a more personal level.
A great engagement session will not only leave you more comfortable with your photographer, but will almost certainly leave you with a new friend!
